commentary: During a desert battle, Hitchcock is badly wounded. Troy decides to risk taking him to a nearby German field hospital as their own hospital is too far away. Upon arriving at the hospital he and Moffitt nearly pull off the masquerade, except for a paranoid patient -- Captain Friedrich -- who tells everyone they are American spies. No one believes him but during the delay the doctor notices a tattoo on Hitch's arm from Ft. Benning, Ga. Troy forces him, at gunpoint, to finish the operation. They escape in a hail of gunfire after the surgery.

Jan's Notes on The Life against Death Raid

I like to think of this episode as one of the "Musketeer" episodes. You know, all for one and one for all. In this case, they all band together to save Hitch.

For the record:

Tully's hair was blonde, combed back, basically neat.

Hitch lost his shirt altogether. Bonus for chest watchers. Hitch's preoccupation with the opposite sex came out in this one. What does he dream of when he is under anaesthesia but a "cute chick".

Tully lost his shirt also but had an undershirt on. The only time he ever wears one. Plays sick real well.

Troy managed to destroy 3 trucks, and kill at least 9 - 10 Germans.

Moffitt got to demonstrate how well he could speak German and very evident in every scene. High Moffitt meter

Sorry, no Dietrich in this episode. And I'm still not sure why that German nurse was there. She just stood around and got in the way basically.

I prefer the episodes where all four guys are involved through out the show. No one's favourite is left out.

There wasn't anything really spectacular about this episode but it did set up the relationship between the four men. Moffitt's insistance that all of them take Hitch to the field hospital reminded Troy that they are all in this together. And it touched on the strong feelings that the men have for one another.
