We worked with Owen Smith on an important institutional grant for a key client, and were impressed with his knack for tightening flabby institutional writing. The revisions he offered ensured both clarity and consistency in the proposal, which was important since, like many institutionally created grants, it was written by committee. It was obvious that he had read both the guidelines and the document carefully and that he was both familiar and adept with the requirements of formal prose, as well as knowledgeable about the often murky administrative side of academia. He was able to help us strike a happy balance between formal and lively prose, which would make our proposal more interesting to read. Moreover, we found him dependable and easy to work with, observant of time constraints, patient with institutional waffling, and considerate of institutional egos. We were especially pleased that he provided an unusually quick turnaround to help us meet a close deadline.

Another limitation can be the lack of training on the part of the researcher in how to conduct conducting interviews or observations or how to write writing good case study reports. These undefinedThe absence of these skills for being a good case study researcher can lead to an oversimplification or exaggeration of the situation.
