We're usually taught to measure history as the distance between wars and then to take special care figuring out which men fought which other men and which territory each marked as his own until the next war. Gabrielle's shown us there's another way to measure a world or a life. It doesn't always have to be about when you tackled a warlord or battled centaurs. Sometimes it's about when you learned to appreciate a baby's life, when you found a remarkable teacher in Chin or on your own ship, and when you bent to the ways of a peaceful bard and brought a quicker end to a battle....
