Olympic Broadcasting Network Special Presentation

Thank you for joining us for the 1997 ARGO AWARDS LIVE SIMULCAST!

As the ARGO winners for each category are announced, this page will be updated and uploaded to the Logomancy web site. You can let your browser go on automatic reload, which will update the page every five minutes, or you can reload it yourself to see if the latest results are in.

We now turn you over to our host for this evening, Salmoneus . . .

Welcome to the Live Simulcast of the 1997 ARGO AWARDS. I'm Salmoneus, and I'll be with you throughout this evening's gala event. It's nearly time for the festivities to begin, so sit back and relax, and be sure to patronise our sponsors.

Let's go to Miss Artiphys with special coverage of what the attendees are wearing. Miss Artiphys?

Thank you, Sal. I'm standing here virtually at the entrance to the MCA chat rooms, and the attendees are arriving in droves.

We've seen some lovely off-the-shoulder and no-shoulder dresses, and a gorgeous little topless number from Crete. Miss Artiphys thinks some people should keep their tops on and leave the details to our imaginations.

You'll even see a few men sporting that brand new fad, the plaid toga.

Draco the Warlord has just arrived, wearing his trademark mynah-bird look, accompanied by his date, an entourage of fifteen virgins in their usual white fluffy gowns with accessorising veils.

Despite the word that hemlines are rising, we're seeing everything from maxis to midis to itty bitty minis and that unfortunate look, the leather-pants-and-skirt combo. More skirts, less pants, says this fashion maven. And now back to you, Sal.

Thank you, Miss Artiphys, for giving us an advance look on what will surely be tomorrow's fashion headlines. And now, a brief word from one of our sponsors.

Cupid, Olympus' greatest hit with the ladies, says:
"Don't be Stupid, take your hair to

It's where my locks get their golden glow."

Welcome back to the 1997 ARGO AWARDS, coming to you live from the MCA chat area. For a look at the building excitement in the awards hall itself, we turn now to Gaius Julius Caesar, our reporter in the field.

Thank you, Salmoneus. This is Caesar--Julius Caesar-- reporting live from fortified high ground at the Universal/MCA chat forum.

The ARGO presenters have commandeered the area known as the Xena Chat Room and positioned a garrison at the doors, thus cutting off forays from potentially hostile neighbouring tribes. The arena is spacious and level, so we can hope for some thrilling captive entertainment later. Plans for taxing the natives have not yet been finalised, but Caesar does intend to make them all learn Latin. No word yet on who will be receiving the special ARGO ACHIEVEMENT AWARD, but we'll cross that Rubicon when we get to it.

Back to you, Salmoneus.

Thank you, Gaius.

Now, a word from our sponsor.

Meet that special someone on our featured Sail Into Romance cruises with destinations Athens, Atlantis, and Far Alalakh. Come aboard our newest ship, the Pacific Warrior Princess, registry Ithaca, where you will be well taken care of by her brand new crew -- Captain Ulysses, Joxer, Hippocrates, Falafel the bartender, and Julie, your cruise director.

Let the Charon Travel Agency book your next journey into adventure! Vacations so great you'll forget to go home!

Looks like the presentation is beginning. We take you now over to the awards hall for ongoing up-to-the-minute coverage.
